Announcement Blast
Create announcements for residents and send them out as a blast.
What it’s for
Announcements are how you communicate with residents — a notice, an event, a maintenance heads-up. This page is where you write them and send them out.
Where to find it
Sidebar → General → Announcement Blast, at /admin/announcement.
Who can use it
- See the menu item and open the page — needs view.
- See the announcement list — needs get.
- Create, edit, delete, and blast an announcement — needs create/update/delete as appropriate.
On this screen

How to…
Create an announcement
- Click Create Announcement.
- Fill in a title, description, and date.
- Optionally mark it Important.
- Choose who it’s for: the whole cluster, or one specific unit (pick the unit if so).
- Save.
Edit or delete an announcement
- Open the edit or delete action on its card.
- For edit, change any field and save. For delete, confirm.
Blast an announcement
- Open the blast action on an announcement.
- Confirm — the dialog tells you exactly who it’s going to (the cluster’s residents, or one unit) before you send.
- Confirm again to send.

Rules & statuses
Two things track independently, and it’s easy to mix them up:
- Published / Draft — whether the announcement is visible at all.
- Blast status (Draft / Sent) — whether it’s actually been sent out to residents. Blasting is a separate, deliberate action — creating or publishing an announcement doesn’t send it by itself.
